The Jeremy Sarmiento loan move is complete, with Middlesbrough signing the Brighton & Hove Albion winger until the end of the season.

The deal also includes an option to make the transfer permanent, giving Boro flexibility beyond the current campaign.

Jeremy Sarmiento Joins Boro After Italy Spell

Sarmiento arrives at the Riverside Stadium after a short spell in Italy with US Cremonese. His time there proved difficult, as he made only seven appearances. All of them came from the bench.

The 23-year-old now returns to English football in search of regular minutes and a fresh start.

Middlesbrough see the winger as a player who can add pace, energy, and attacking threat in the final third.

Promotion Experience Boosts Middlesbrough Options

Sarmiento brings valuable promotion experience to Teesside. He helped Ipswich Town earn promotion to the Premier League in 2024.

A year earlier, he achieved the same success with Burnley. During his loan spell there, he played 40 matches in all competitions and scored four goals.

He becomes Middlesbrough’s third signing of the January window. The club previously added attacking midfielder Leo Castledine and young defender Finley Munroe.

Sarmiento Reacts as Boro Chase Top Spot

Speaking after completing the move, Sarmiento praised the ambition shown by the club. He said that mindset convinced him to join Middlesbrough.

He also stressed his desire to get started quickly and show what he can offer the team.

Middlesbrough currently sit just three points behind Championship leaders Coventry City. They return to action this weekend when Norwich City visit the Riverside Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is set for 15:00 GMT.

With momentum building and reinforcements secured, the Jeremy Sarmiento loan move could prove key in Boro’s push for promotion.
